Homemade Facial Masks: easy recipes

Every time I bought a facial mask from the store I was unsatisfied. It was either too oily or too harsh for my skin, it was hard to remove or it had a bad smell. Bottom line, that’s when I decided that homemade masks are the right ones to use. The Internet is filled with different recipes, but how many of them actually work? Well, these ones sure do:

 

  • Avocado and yoghurt. It sounds so simple, right? Because it is. Avocado is beneficial even for dry and sensitive skin, and it can successfully replace even the most expensive cream. The yoghurt will moisturize your face, and calm down any irritation or sensitive area. Take a ripe fruit, and put half of it in the blender. Mix with two spoons of yoghurt (full-fat one) and apply the mask on your face. Rinse with warm water after twenty minutes.
  • Banana and honey. No, this is not the recipe for a smoothie. Banana is one of the most nutritive fruits that you can apply for your face, especially if you have problems with dry patches. The honey will give you that glow and it will reduce any inflammation or pimples. Blend one ripe banana with a tablespoon of honey; apply on your face and neck, and wash it after thirty minutes.
  • Oatmeal and egg white. For people with oily skin, summer can be a real problem. You sweat a lot, your pores get clogged and you get a new pimple every week. To prevent this, you need a mask that will balance the level of natural oils in your skin. Oatmeal is not only good for breakfast, but for much more. Prepare your oatmeal like usually, by warming it with a few spoons of water. When it is ready, let it chill a few minutes and add two egg whites. Mix well and apply this on your skin.
  • Turmeric and yoghurt. Turmeric is well known in Asia for its healing properties, and it is one of the most effective ingredients used in face masks. Add half teaspoon of turmeric to a cup of plain yoghurt, and apply on your face. Make sure to not put too much turmeric because it can stain your skin. Keep it on for ten minutes, then rinse with cold water. Your skin will look better than ever!
