I, as many other women, hate anything related to waxing. It’s painful, time-consuming and necessary; horrible! For years I searched for a less painful and less messy alternative; nothing seemed to work until I found Sugar Waxing. Since then, this is the only method I use and the only method that seems if not pleasant, at least bearable. Besides, it’s super cheap and easy to use and I can make everything in my home. Here is how you can prepare it and use it:
You will need:
2 cups of white sugar
4 tablespoons of water
4 tablespoons of lemon juice
- Put the sugar and the water in a pot and boil on low heat until the sugar starts melting. When the sugar starts melting, add the lemon juice and mix. Continue to stir until the composition looks like honey. Turn the fire off and let it cool down for a few minutes before touching it.
- Take some of the composition with a spatula (make sure it’s not too hot so it will not burn your skin) and spread it on the area that you want to shave. Press it on your skin until you feel that the sugar is hard; then pull the sugar like you would do with a wax strip. The huge advantage of this method is that the sugar will only adhere to your hair, not to your skin.
- Clean with water once you are done. We all know how tricky it can be to remove the wax after we shave. Well, since it’s just sugar it’s extremely easy to remove it with water and soap. You will notice that your skin is no longer irritated or red after shaving, and it is much smoother than usually.
- Apply a moisturizer and enjoy your perfect, silky skin!
