Nowadays we are so overwhelmed by everything that happens in our life, that we rarely the time to think about our habits. Sure, you want to be healthy and you make efforts for this, but more than once you noticed that you can’t convince yourself to stick to a certain healthy habit.
Going to the gym seems easy in the beginning, but soon enough you notice that it is a challenge. You make a subscription, you buy some nice equipment, you go to the gym for a few times and then you completely forget about this. There are always other things that you have to do, and your exercise routine comes somewhere on the bottom of the list of priorities.
Is there a way to change this? Of course! If you change your mindset, you will be able to stick to your routine and to get the positive results that you wish for in the gym.
To begin with, you need to fall asleep with a clear idea in your mind: you are making a change. I know that there are many things that you have to deal with, but your health is more important than anything else. When you go to bed at night, take a few minutes and think about your progress, about what else you have to do, about what you can do to improve yourself and so on. Another vital thing that you have to do before sleeping is trying to visualize yourself at the end of the journey: if you go to the gym two times per week, how will you look in 6 months?
In the morning, things are even better if you know how to control your mindset. You just woke up, you are full of energy and you are ready to start a new day. The advantage of this time is that no matter what you focus on, it will stay in your mind for the rest of the day. This means that if you have a positive attitude, you will probably be in a good mood all day long. On the other hand, if you are in a bad mood from the moment you woke up, don’t be surprised if everything seems to go wrong.
To focus on your goal in the morning, you might have to do more than just thinking about going to the gym. You have to talk to yourself (yes, literally) and say what are you going to do today, why, and what you will get from this. It’s simple: stay in front of the mirror and explain to yourself for one minute why it is so important to go to the gym. I know, it might get funny, but this will only make it better and more effective!
The evening and the morning are probably the most important moments of your day, and if you control them you can control your mood and success completely. You have everything you need to change your body and your health, so why should you allow yourself to walk away when you can achieve success?
Don’t expect it to be easy on the first try, and don’t put pressure on yourself. You will have days when no matter what you do, you will not feel good enough to go to the gym. And this is ok! Take your time, but don’t forget that even a small step is better than staying in one place. With a little bit of confidence, you can change things that seemed impossible in the beginning.
Once you will start with your new mindset, going to the gym will be a real pleasure. You will know that this is something positive, something that will help you improve and something beneficial for your body and mind. It’s worth all your effort!
